2021 36th annual Green River Cleanup

Posted by Green River Cleanup

NOTE: We are still scheduling events for 2021, but events may be modified while there is still a risk of COVID-19 transmission. Make sure to check the event information and Facebook discussions before the event.

This event will likely happen in small micro pods of families and neighbors to comply with WA state health guidelines and the CDC. Please stay safe and keep our rivers free of trash by keeping the event alive.

Join WRRR, WKC, PTCC, OWA, MGRC, Nature Nuts, WTA, and Wa state friends and neighbors at the 36th Annual Green River Cleanup! There will be lots to do for boaters and non boaters. River stretches from class 2-4. Hiking and ground crew sections from flat trail to adventurous river corridor cleaning.

Registration at the Headworks goes from 9:30AM-11AM. At Kanasket-Palmer State Park, you can register from 9AM-11:30AM. Help us clean up the Green River and keep it one of the most beautiful rivers you can raft. You can pre-register online at http://www.greenrivercleanup.org/register-for-the-clean-up/

Cleanup volunteers will enjoy free camping at the Kanasket-Palmer State Park group camp on the Green on Friday and Saturday nights. Camping is tight for large rigs. Ease rsvp any large EVa, and be flexible. WRRR will also be hosting a BBQ at Kanasket Palmer State Park getup camp on Saturday afternoon for members (or a $5 donation for non-members).  WRRR will be providing Burgers, Brats, and main course foods.   We welcome you to bring side items potluck style!

Make sure to check out www.greenrivercleanup.org for complete details.

You can also find updated information through the Green River Cleanup Facebook group.

Comments From The Camp Cook

Attention WRRR family. Please allow me to sincerely apologize for any miscommunication regarding the upcoming Green River events. WRRR has a long tradition of bringing families together through large events revolving around potluck style dining. Unfortunately as we navigate through this unprecedented time some traditions must evolve to ensure public health and safety. As a result here is the event dining schedule for the upcoming Green River Events:

  • 36th Annual Green River Clean Up
  • Saturday May 1st
  • Location: Kanaskat Palmer Group Camp

A complete BBQ will be served around 6PM. No potluck dish necessary. Again I have all the fixins!

I regret to inform you that there will be NO Dutch oven dessert cook off this year. Please feel free to compete and share within your households.

Again I sincerely apologize if this recent update has upset anyone’s plans. As your camp cook I feel a personal responsibility to each and every one of you to ensure that any and all food preparation is handled with the utmost care. I promise to adhere to covid guidelines to the best of my ability and knowledge. As such everyone is politely asked to wear their mask and sanitize their hands before approaching the cook station. Thank you in advance for helping us all stay happy, healthy, safe, and BOATING.

Sincerely,

Mary K
