Post Cleanup report
The 42nd Green River Cleanup is in the history books. Turn out was better than expected, considering the low water (520 cfs) and the price of gas.
On May 2, approximately 50 people scoured the banks of the Green River. In kayaks, rafts and on foot and collected an estimated two hundred pounds of trash and a couple of artifacts.
Afterwards, at shelter number three in Flaming Geyser State Park, with warm weather, blue skies and sunshine, we were treated with hamburgers provided by WRRR and potluck sides provided by the Volunteers.
Thank you to all the volunteers that participated in this year‘s cleanup. Thanks to you, the Green River is cleaner today than it was yesterday and way cleaner than it was 43 years ago.
Set your calendars for next year, Saturday, May 1st 2027, for the 43rd annual Green River Cleanup. See you there.
